Apostrophe S

Well, it’s my first full day in New Jersey. Yesterday was spent in three or four states. Started out in Indiana, spent a few hours in Ohio, and ducked into West Virginia for a bit. Then moved on to spend most of my day in Pennsylvania, including an unexpected tour of northern Philadelphia. Finally I moved on to New Jersey, and realized that it was a lot bigger than I had expected. I ended up driving an hour across Jersey before I got to where I was going (which, by the way, I got lost again getting to).

When I arrived, I met Rachel for the first time. She’s was the first person I really “met” in Jersey. Oh sure, I’d spoken to her a couple of times on the phone, but I didn’t even know what she looked like. Wait, I think I’ve met Harris once before, but I don’t remember. I also met her two dogs. I’m not sure about them yet. I think they’ve accepted me, but who knows. Dogs can be funny like that. I also met two of Rachel’s friends, both of whom work at the Press. Funny how that works.

I got up this morning and had an awkward morning conversation with my new landlord/housemate. I guess first morning conversations are always awkward, but I’m sure it’ll get better with time. I felt a lot better after taking a shower. I had four states worth of whatever on me. Anyway, so now I’m getting ready to go out for the first time. (For a physical, no less, what fun that should be.) Then, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. Maybe I’ll post again. Take care…
