To style

Alright, I’ve been going back through the archives a bit (don’t ask me why) and I realize that I’ve been terribly stylistically inconsistent. Should I stick to AP style, the demigod of professional writers everywhere? The biggest problem I find is what to do with composition titles. AP says to put quotation marks around everything, except things like the Bible or Encyclopedia. Unfortunately, putting quotation marks around things in hypertext means something different, and I’m afraid I’ll screw things up.

Perhaps I should adapt my own style. Either way, I want to be consistent. I’ll decide soon.

AP style is really restrictive sometimes, and especially so when it comes to online material. I prefer to just wing my style on my site depending on my mood, but that’s obviously not the ideal way to go. I still violently refuse to hyphenate online like the stylebook says I should (at least my version, which is a few years old).

The AP certainly are a hyphen-crazy bunch. Comma crazy, too.
